Line and bar chart

The line graph shows the visits to and from the UK in millions from 1979 to 1999, meanwhile the bar graph illustrates where the visitors from UK went along these 20 years. Overall, there were a steady upward trend in both visits and the country that was the most visited was France throughout the period.
To begin the visits from UK to abroad were always over the visits who came to UK. The difference was minimal in 1979 (approximately 1 million), but then this was being growing, reaching around 50 million the visits abroad in 1999 being nearly the double of the overseas visits which got just under 30 million.
Regarding to the visits from UK, France was the country most selected with over 10 million, followed by Spain at under 10 million. The remaining countries (USA, Greece and Turkey) were far less popular than the others by almost 5%, 4% and 2%, respectively.

The Brick Manufacturing Process

The diagram illustrates the way in which the bricks are made for the building industry. It has 8 stages and starts by digging up the clay and ends with the delivery.

It begins when the clay is dug up by a large digger which deposits the material onto a metal grid where the clay is smashed in smaller pieces. In this case, it is assisted by a roller. After this, the clay is mixed with sand and water and is translated to a mould or a wire cutter which its outcomes are the bricks ready for the next stage.
The following stage is associated to the drying and cooler process. First, the bricks are heated during 24-48 hours in a drying oven, then are moved to a device called “kiln” where the bricks are much heated up to 1300c. Next the bricks are cooled ranging from 2 to 3 days. Finally, the bricks are packaged and delivered to their destinations.

What are the pros and cons of Public Transport?

Public transport is one of the key of the success of every urban area since let its inhabitants to stay in contact and get to their works respectively. However, in many cases its quality is far from being excellent. Therefore, in this essay I will try to discuss the pros and cons of Public transport.
Let’s start by looking at the advantages. First, public transport is the primary way for people whom doesn’t have any other way of transport. For example, people who doesn’t have a car or any private transport system is really a great help.
Second, if the public transport worked properly, it would leap up the synergy and dynamic of a city. A great example is the Dutch cities   as Amsterdam or Rotterdam, where the public transport is cheap and it is extended to any corner of the cities and having an adequate frequency of its units.

On the other hand, the main disadvantage is that for many cases, it is slower than driving a private car o taking a taxi. For instance, in Santiago it could take the double of time taking a bus rather than riding by a cycleway. Another major drawback is the demand and the no respect of the user’s capacity in the units. In this term there are many examples such as in the buses of the main cities of Latin America, the underground’s system of Tokyo, tec.
To sum up, public transport can connect the people inside the cities, although it carriages many problems as being slow and the lack of security. In my opinion I would indicate this issue as primary concern to the politics, because if we improved this, we could really push up the quality of life of the citizens.

What are the advantages and disadvantages for children of Television?

Nowadays, watching television has been adopted as a tradition in our western society and especially for our children, who has been subjected with more kids programmes every day. Therefore, this can be fun for them but also it can affect seriously the development of them in terms of personal health and social behaviour. In this essay, I will discuss the pros and cons of the effects of television in the kids and try to draw some conclusions.
Let’s start by looking the advantages of these effects. First, the kids are able to be educated by many programmes that are discussing issues as the name of colours, classification of relatives and so on. Another up is the kids can be kept when there are a danger outside. For example, whether it is raining or is getting cold, these ones can have a leisure time watching their favourite programmes.
Turning to the other side of the argument, the cons of this activity is the lack of physical activity. One good example is the rise of obesity among the children of United States, which can be associated with the highly jump of the rating kids’ programmes.
Another major drawback is the loss of empathy and socialization among the children. For instance, when the children are watching T.V. generally they do this alone, in contrast of making friends in the streets or playing in groups.
In overall, the television is one of the most amazing technologies in our days. Nevertheless, we have to be responsible in how to use it with the minors, who are very prone to adapt their behaviour in relation to their environment. In my view, I would let them watch T.V. programmes, but first they would have to play a while in groups outside with the aim to meet the real world.

Writing in English

In the last years I have been studying English with the aim of studying abroad in United Kingdom, but despite all my efforts I haven't been successful yet.  First, I failed with the Sponsor of my country (Becas Chile) where I didn't do a good statement and study declarations, so that I was ranked much lower than I thought. Maybe If I had gotten a better score in my IELTS test, I would have been selected for this scholarship. Later, I did other test in this year, the TOEFL, which is seems more easy than the IELTS, but I was wrong, I do not recommend to anyone in doing this test, exception if you are aware of its implications, because yo got a lot of distractions, for instance, there are much noise from the corridor and the people who is surrounding you are moving inside and outside of the room all time.
Nowadays, I am studying for the IELTS test again and I have one month to get the minimum score required for my MSc programme (7.0).  Therefore, I will practise my writing skills in this blog writing essays about any topic. I do not expect to be read by someone, but if that happen could you advise me with some tips?

On other hand, I know that my blog is a little abandoned, but I hope in a couple of weeks I'd be able to updating it with a new design.
